Popis:
Charles Deforest Fredricks (1823-1894), owner of photography studios, opened a studio in 1853 in Paris, followed by a studio in New York in 1855 and inaugurated another studio in Havana in 1857. In Cuba, Fredricks works with several partners including Georges Penabert (1825-1903), Augusto Daries and Samuel Cohner. French photographers Georges Penabert and Augusto Daries have also joined Fredricks in his studios in New York and Paris. Georges Penabert is already in 1850, a commercial partner of Fredricks. He traveled with him and two other associates, Alexander B. Weeks and Saturnino Masoni (1826-1892), several countries of South America in 1851. In this correspondence written in Spanish on March 30, 1865 by Georges Penabert to Fredricks, he evokes a photographic experiment whose project dates back a year. Georges Penabert also talks about the journey that Augusto Daries undertakes and his departure from Le Havre on April 5 (1865).
